My blogging neighbor told me he didn't want to be my friend today...

I can only hope he's kidding.

Shocking News!

So, recently I was on cnn.com catching up on some current events going on around the world. As I was browsing I came across an online article from Boston, Massachusetts. Here is alink to the article: http://www.thebostonchannel.com/cnn-news/19020075/detail.html Apparently, students from Boston Latin High School have been dealing with the possibilities of vampires roaming throughout their school. The article concluded that many of these theories about possible vampires came from the recently released vampire flick "Twilight" and that there was undoubtedly no vampires in the school. I beg to differ. I searched through the archives of Boston Latin High and came across some significant evident proving that vampires to exist within the building. Here is a scan of a page from the school's 1984 year book. Look closely and you'll realize that the articles conclusion was obvious wrong and that vampires, though elusive, do subsist among the students. Who knows, maybe the movie "Twilight" wasn't so unrealistic.

Tutorial Number 2...

So.... tutorial number to went okay. I decided to do a tutorial where it taught you how to make a seamless pattern. I ran into some problems though. I made my shape, and repeated it the way I wanted to and this is how it looked before using the "pathfinder crop" tool:
However, once i cropped it, the pen tool lines within my shape didn't show up and it ended up looking like this:

needless to say i'm a little confused why this happened. But, I guess I'll have time in class Thursday to figure it out!

Tutorial Number 1!

So, this was my first tutorial and I actually had some trouble with it. Although it looks like a really simple image to make, trying to follow the tutorial's direction exactly. The knife tool was a little confusing, so I am going to have to ask someone to help clarify some questions for me in class. :) Anyway though, here is my own "juicy pair of lips"!!!

David Hockney Recreation

For this project we were asked to create an image that was inspired by an artist we admired. I chose one of David Hockney's pool scenes. I enjoy how still the scene in the image is and how much movement the one spot of water had in contrast. I tried to implement the same quality within a portrait that I did of my brother, Evan.
